Imagine if your worst nightmare became your greatest gift.

I never intended on telling my story but as I slowly grew and changed it became clear that if I could turn my pain into a positive and help someone never feel as alone as I once did, my life would have meaning.

I remember seeing the phrase ‘trauma from diagnosis’ and instantly identifying with it. Before 2021 I had never been to hospital but by the end of 2022 I had undergone a string of surgeries, seen numerous specialists and endured a cancer scare with preventative medication that left me bedridden. I was cleared and yet robbed of crucial time. The diagnosis was unexplained infertility.

Navigating the world of IVF felt like stumbling into a secret society, masked faces everywhere, success rates shrouded in mystery. Hope seemed like a distant dream. We were told that likely nothing would work before we even began, every prick of a needle reminded me that everything I had ever dreamed of now seemed out of reach.

I felt deeply alone and with no one to talk to who understood my situation. Everything triggered me. Adrift in a sea of uncertainty with a lot of shame and unhelpful, well-meaning people to dodge, I isolated myself for close to three years. Therapists and treatments offered no solace, until a simple prescription from a holistic GP changed everything: it was for rest and joy.

Those two words were, for me, a circuit breaker, permission to grieve. I embarked on a journey of holistic living and immersed myself in daily rituals grounded in nature. It was here, surrounded by the bush and close to the sea where little glimmers of light would emerge through the darkness that enveloped me daily.

Each step brought me closer to healing and it took yielding to my evolution to realise, the pain was the gift. Pain pushes us and what it pushed me to do was realise my vision for Naturel Haus. The more I learned and unpacked, the more I wanted to share my story.

As I built up the courage needed, I never gave up hope but I did, eventually surrender. It was here, surrounded by the sacred lands of the Daintree Rainforest in September 2023 that I finally handed it over to the universe and we conceived our baby girl naturally within 48 hours. A miracle.

Now, as I embrace the gift of motherhood in awe, my purpose is clear. As someone who has gone through this journey, I want to share what I have learned, and help others explore the very notions of wellbeing and intentional living through a conscious curation of ethical, non-toxic and regenerative products, for the self, the family, and the home.
